Many companies are unable to fabricate unitised curtainwall systems due to the requirement for large amounts of space and handling equipment to carry the glazed panels. AEL have installed a new production facility and equipment in order to fabricate free-issue materials or we have our own fully-unitised and semi unitised systems in both aluminium and steel. We give many UK companies the physical capability to manufacture unitized systems which were previously outside their range of abilities.
AEL can fabricate free-issue materials or we have our own fully-unitised and semi unitised systems in both aluminium and steel. Unitised curtain walling brings all the advantages of off-site construction to the building envelope, including reductions in time on site of up to 70 per cent and significantly improved quality and performance because the façade panels are manufactured and glazed off-site in a controlled factory environment. The façade panels are transported to site and craned into position, making this a highly efficient solution where site access is restricted. Faster programme times lead to earlier occupation and a faster return on investment for the developer as well as improved safety - fewer operatives are required on site, the need for scaffolding is eliminated and there are reductions in working at height.
Many unitised facades feature Structural Silicone Bonded glass and stone panels. As AEL are Dow Corning "Quality Bond" approved, we carry-out this highly specialised and audited process in house, again saving transport between manufacturing and bonding facilities.
